How to “Win” the Goodwood Revival?

Success at Revival is not about speed alone — it’s about authenticity, skill, and style.

The event features real competitive races such as the Lavant Cup and St Mary’s Trophy, showcasing meticulously restored cars driven at serious pace, often by professional and former Formula 1 or Le Mans drivers.

At Goodwood, heritage, presentation, and driving skill are celebrated as much as outright results.

FAQs

Can I bring kids?

The event is family-friendly, but our curated tour is designed for adults (typically 18+), with fine dining, long days, and immersive historical themes. If you’re planning a family trip, reach out and we can help customize an option for you.

What should I wear to Goodwood Revival?

Period dress is highly encouraged and adds to the immersive charm of the event. Think 1940s military uniforms, 1950s swing dresses, or 1960s Mod style. As part of our tour, you’ll have access to a vintage wardrobe, plus hair and makeup styling sessions to complete the look.

Do I need to be in vintage dress?

While not mandatory, vintage attire is strongly recommended—especially for entry into certain hospitality and paddock areas. Most attendees dress the part, and you’ll enjoy the experience more when you blend into the era. Don’t worry—we help you get it right with personal styling assistance included.

Do they actually race?

Yes! This is not a static car show. The Goodwood Revival features real, high-speed races with pre-1966 cars, everything from Formula 1 machines to touring cars and motorcycles. Drivers compete hard, and many are professional racers, former champions, or celebrities. It’s thrilling, authentic motorsport.

Do we get to drive?

Not during the Revival itself, as racing is invitation-only. However, our guests can combine the event with Nostalgic’s classic car driving tours across Europe, including vintage Alfa Romeos and Mercedes-Benz convertibles. Ask us how to extend your trip with a driving experience of your own.

Is this tour suitable for solo travelers?

Absolutely. We welcome solo guests and offer single room options. You’ll be part of the group throughout shared meals, activities, and transfers—so you’ll feel connected from day one.

How many people are on the tour?

We keep our groups intimate—typically 14–20 guests. This ensures you receive personal service, insider access, and a more connected experience with fellow travelers.

What’s the difference between the Revival and the Festival of Speed?

The Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Revival offer two distinct experiences. The Festival of Speed (July) focuses on modern motorsport, innovation, and cutting-edge vehicles racing up a hillclimb course. The Revival (September), on the other hand, is a fully immersive tribute to mid-20th-century racing. Classic cars race the historic Goodwood Circuit, and guests dress in vintage attire to celebrate the style, culture, and competition of the 1940s to 1960s.
